Wearing Happiness

When I was little, I had this pair of funky red cowboy boots.

You know the kind of thing you put on and your average day turns into a good day?

Maybe you had something that was your Cape-to-Your-Superhero, too.

Even though my mom rolled  her eyes once or twice, I wore those boots everywhere I went.

An abstract heel and dark details make these boots childlike, not childish.

As children, we are free. We don’t care that red cowboy boots or tu-tu’s don’t match. We want to wear things simply because they make us happy.

Today, I’m reinstating my cowboy boots. Only today, I am opting for a slightly more sophisticated style. Red leather turns black, and I return to my inner child. Wearing happiness never felt (or looked) so good!
